is much easier than i had expected. the 15 minutes it takes to watch the sun go down and the after glow is also a good way to be present (another one of my goals). i miss new mexico though – best sunsets ever. its hard to see the sun set here in LA, esp inland and im feeling a bit trapped.

Day number two and another beautiful sunset. This time there was a “sundog.” Look at Wikipedia for an explanation of “sundog” – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_dog

Gulf of Mexico

I’m attending a meeting on the Gulf Shore in Alabama and I got a chance to walk on the beach late this afternoon. An absolutely, beautiful sunset and to top it off, there were 5 or 6 dolphins swimming by as I enjoyed the view.

This day, clouds were moving by at impressive speeds while those in the distance remained almost completely still. It’s the very edge of the remnants of Hurricane Ike, passing at 45 mph. About an hour after I took the picture, I lost power for the rest of the night.

I’ve enjoyed three beautiful sunsets in the last two weeks. Instead of taking time to “smell the roses,” I took time to “enjoy the sunsets!”

This is the second in the series. It is the sun setting next to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful day.

Here’s the first of the series. The sunset through the window of my apartment tonight was beautiful. I lost track of what I was doing watching it.
