I was a vegetarian for quite some time, and even now I don’t eat meat unless I go out or make it a point to do so. Vegetarianism isn’t quite so hard as veganism, and it’s very good for your health. It’s easy! Give it a try!
i decided to try to go vegetarian for a month just to see if i could do it. i was raised on a farm in iowa and was very much a meat-eater. i was just curious to see if i would be able to hold out for a month. it was really difficult at first but then i began to look at food differently and tried new recipes and new restaurants that i overlooked before. i conquered my one month challenge and continued not eating meat for four months after just because i liked it. i felt better and it was good to challenge myself.
I am going to NYC Saturday and I am getting hot dogs at Gray’s Papaya! I’m sorry it’s just my favorite place to eat ever and it is a special trip to my favorite place ever! After THAT, I will continue until Christmas
Ok, this wasn’t an actual attempt to eat vegetarian, but it WAS all veggie and it was interesting…so it kinda counts.
Last night, I roasted a spaghetti squash, scooped out the spaghetti like strands and had myself some “pasta”. You know what, it was pretty dern good:)
Even if you go back to eating meat, being vegetarian for a while may do real wonders by widening your culinary horizons. There are simply so much wonderful food out there that I would never ever have tasted if I hadn’t become a vegetarian… Of course, it might take a little effort finding and learning to make these dishes. It really helps knowing a vegetarian chef… ;)
I’ve been vegetarian for six months and I couldn’t be happier with my choice! Really, it wasn’t hard for me at all. For most people when you reach a certain point of abstinance you no longer want/crave whatever it is you keeping away from (meat in this case).
Vegetarianism is quite wonderful. It’s good for you, and for the lovely animals that you aren’t eating. _
