A friend gave me a mini herb garden kit for my new apartment which she got online. They are really easy and have little pellets which you just put the seeds into. So far my new garden is doing really well in the gorgeous sydney spring days.
It’s worth it if you’re going to use them. I ahven’t been. I must rectify this! But still, it has been started. Almost ended to through lack of use but the started bit has been completed.
This was so worth it. Off and on it has taken nearly 12 months, but what an amazing feature this is. This is the first thing I see from my Kitchen window every morning – absolute bliss.
My darling husband very kindly (after only a little cajoling) built me the most amazing herb wheel. It is 50 feet in diameter and he cleaned all the bricks for the paths himself. He dug out every section and imported good top soil in and topped it all off with a good dose of manure. We bought a water statue feature for the centre and I have finally finished planting all my herbs. It has 5 central garden beds, and 9 larger outer garden beds all separated by brick paths. I could confidently now say that I would be able to supply all the surrounding district with any amount of fresh herbs.
Today I bought 5 lots of herbs (Italian parsley, mint, oregano, sweet basil and garlic chives), 3 chilli plants, four pots and potting mix for the grand total of $30!
