Magster12 is Trying To Live My Life With Purpose
I’ve wanted to try this for the longest time, but never have. Who know’s I might even like it and even if I don’t I can say Ya, I tried that!
I’m very very competitive. And I’m not going to be able to play basketball whem I’m fifty so I’ll need something to do. It just sucks that’s it’s sport you have to pay everytime you play.
Today was the last day of my golf lessons and I left the class today with a feeling of sadness, but with a sense of achievement. At least now I have a semblance of knowledge about golf and how to ‘look like a pro’, even though I am not one. I still have to practice tons if I am to become really good so I hope I can keep up with my interest and enthusiasm for the game. It’s very challenging though but overall I do like the game.
I really need to start learning how to play golf. I think that would help me network for my career. My CEO is always talking about golf- and I think if I learn how to play- I wouldn’t be self-conscious about going to all of these golf tournments he hosts!
Ian and I have gone to a driving range and a putting course before but never really had any formal golf lessons. This summer I vowed to learn golf once and for all and what better place to learn it than the Okanagan? I signed up for 4 (or 5?) sessions and today I had my first lesson. I wasn’t sure how I felt about golf being limitedly exposed to it but now I can say that I like it. Yes, I know it’s only been my first lesson and sounds premature to say it but I had fun today and I now know how to look like a pro! All of us in the group lesson are women and somehow this does not surprise me much. Our instructor Randy was pretty cool and I look forward to upcoming lessons.
I’m so excited to be taking my first golf lesson next Monday. There, finally, I’m doing something about it. It’ll only be 4 sessions, but I figured that should at least give me some good basic background of how to play the sport. All that E and I have been doing so far is putting and going to the driving range. Don’t think we have the forms down pat but I get happy when I simply hit the ball…even though it only goes 2 feet away from me. Pathetic, I know. Wish me fun.
When you hit the Ball, You want to keep your Left arm straight at all times. Have your stance be shoulder width apart.
It was a charity event for a non-profit I help support. Boy do I suck! I took 12 balls thinking I would loose one every two holes and have three left over. I ran out on hole 16. I pretty much hit ever water hazard!
I did have one good drive and one good putt. That’s a start I guess.
Practice, Practice, Practice.
