A friend introduced me to chess this week. I now need to buy a chess set and a book to practice at home :)
How to learn chess
It made me 
"But my kid brother still beats me..."
How I did it: Got one of those chess sets with the allowed patterns printed on the pieces! Took me a few rounds, but now I can use a regular set. Also, I played against the computer quite a bit. So easy.

Mostly, my fascination started with Cry_Wolf.

I got really good right away, but then it took a little longer to learn the ultimate strategies.
I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about websites here, but I learned from an awesome one.
You had to pay, but it was worth it.
I’m sure if you do a search for “how to win chess” you can find it, it’s $27 a month.

It took me 3 weeks and a lot of frustration for my brother and i can now play a great game against him!

I signed my 7th & 8th graders up for a ten week course and they came home and taught me. I nearly beat my daughter, but her “experience” nailed me. Now on to mastering strategy so I can cream my novice teachers.

i just bought a set and have visited some sites online to learn the basic rules, so i guess i just have to practice and learn stragegy, tactics and all that.
