Make a board game

My version of Monopoly

Hmm… maybe not exactly with a board (but it would still be classified as a board game). It’s funny, because when the whole Beyblade thing came out, me and my friend Peter made up our own beyblade game before the toys even came out (we were 11 or 12 then). We took bottle caps and turned them upside down. Then, in art classes when we were free to make whatever we wanted, we would construct out of art materials some obstacle courses for the bottle caps to battle in, and then we would wait for free periods and then sit at the same desk one person on each side, set up the obstacle courses, and then spin the bottle caps and try to win by knocking our opponent off of the desk. That was loads of fun. But now that we’re a little old for that (ha ha), I was thinking of making some form of a battle game that’s not beybladeish and that’s more for older teens like us.

has not been had. But I’m going to need something to keep me busy in my retirement aren’t I. You can’t use up all your goals too early.

didnt make a traditional board game but took the idea of a board game (moving around and such) and placed it inside a school diary. me and 2 friends played our way through the school year one particularly boring ´triple physics lesson, making up rules on the spot. It was awesome.

Also made a board game about the Murray river when i was a little tacker back in middle school, grade 7 i think, that game wasnt quite as good but a good effort

Well, I’ve always wanted to make a board game, but I’ve been so short of ideas for such things. Anyone have any ideas?

I have fond memories of making stupid board games when I was a kid. I think it all started when I found the game Videopoly in a Cracked magazine, and despite the fact that it was supposed to be a stupid bit mocking the gaming industry, I ended up playing it for weeks with a buddy of mine. Stupid? Oh, yeah. But still fun.

And so I’ve been tossing around ideas for a game that I just want to put together for the kids, and if it turns out any fun I’ll post it as a downloadable in a blog or something. Nothing fancy. Just a fun short term thing to do for fun.

I’m getting all excited about this. I have ten SQUILLION things that I have to do and that are really urgent and important. But no… I want to make a board game.

It’s going to take the gaming industry by storm. It won’t be one of those crappy mass marketed things. People will play it with me and they’ll find it so good they’ll want to make their own, and it’ll be like grassroots boardgaming yah. And then we’ll get bored of making them and sell out to the Google of boardgaming or something and everyone’ll be getting one for christmas.

It’ll keep bored youngsters off the streets.
