I’m giving up on this. I’ve procrastinated this into pointlessness.
I’m pretty disappointed in myself. I was under the impression that I had outgrown this kind of behaviour.

I’ve asked an old friend I meet mostly on-line for a phone number. If we get to talk, what am I supposed to say?
Where did this procrastination come from, suddenly? I thought I had outgrown this. What could be simpler? Just phone that mast guy, but not too late, right after work. The Irish and the English would not mind getting a call at any time, I’m sure. Be prepared for speaking to someone else first, be prepared for speaking to an answering service.
