be a volunteer

I’ve located a local no-kill animal shelter that I would like to volunteer with. I’m trying carve out the time, though. Ive been way too busy recently.

I teach high school and so I feel like I’m volunteering A LOT already!! But I have done volunteer work in the past and would like to add it in—I’m thinking either museum or a reading program. I’m just not sure what to do at the moment. It’ll be on hold until September when I’ll work it in to my school year routine. Anybody who wants to offer a suggestion about a great place, feel free!!

I want to do this.

I went to the initial meeting for the local hospital. I don’t have the time to commit at this point in my life. I’m not giving up on this goal, but I am thinking of something requiring less commitment.

Made the call. I called the local hospital and left my details. They said in their message that he may be two months before I can start. At least I made the call. In the meantime, I may volunteer somewhere else that doesn’t involve a huge commitment like the hospital would. We’ll see where this goes.

I need to take my life in a direction that suits me. This will suit me.

now is the time to rekindle my interest in volunteering. I want to do something that does not primarily benefit me. This is a habit i want to form. Can volunteerism be habit-forming? I hope so.

I really want to make an effort and volunteer with the humane society over the summer.

Looking at my goals they are all very selfish, I want to give to someone, something, somehow, for it is the only way i shall recieve.

Still planning to do this goal. I really need to get off my ass and make a couple of phone calls. I feel like I can do this. I feel like I can take control of my life and my personal fears and “jump”.

I will make the call this week for volunteer jobs. First steps are always the hardest.

Also, my boss will let me have some time off from work to do volunteer work, and I may be able to afford it. This is very positive.

I’m going to do this goal or start this goal by the end of this month. (jan/2008)
