become a nurse practitioner

I start to FNP school next week. :)

With a lot of hard work and dedication, I was able to finish my first semester of nursing school successfully. I will be starting clinicals this fall and hope to finish my BSN by December 2011. After a few years of experience, I will be applying to become a nurse practitioner. Yay!

I’ll be done with my BSN in December.
I’m signing up to take the GRE this summer.
I’ll be taking statistics NURS 652 and health informatics NURS 654 this summer.
I’m going to apply for spring ‘10 admission in October.
My goal is to be a Family Nurse Practitoner in 3 years. I can do this!

I have applied to grad school, and will be finding out within the next 6 months or so if I am accepted. I plan to get my MSN, and become a Family Nurse Practitioner. I know this is going to be the hardest step in this long journey.

Become a Nurse Practitioner
This is my long term goal, say like 6-7 years away from now, but I am working on it. My Plan is:
• CNA (achieved)
• RN associate degree (working on it)
• BSN
• NP
It is a lofty goal, but then I always wanted to achieve something.

I’m almost finished with my BSN.

I think I’m giving this one up, at least for now, to head toward the clinical nurse specialist route.

Starting next fall! too bad I didn’t know this is what I wanted to do with my life 2 years ago. I’m alittle behind but I can’t wait to start!

I want to do this for a living, I find the medical field very interesting. Hopefully I’ll be able to do it in the next 10 years.

So I have been accepted to the program. Now the real work begins. Starting to freak out a little…
