I’ve been stuck in the same place for as long as I can remember. I’m not quite ready for change yet, but I will need a change of pace eventually.
How to move far away
How I did it: It took a year of patience, perseverance, and belief that we just had to make it happen, never letting up in what we wanted. It took planning, goal setting, and a lot of research!
Lessons & tips: Before I thought I'd move without a job with just some savings, but for most areas, the cost of living is too high for that so I would not go anywhere without a job lined up

sure, it’s a big culture shock. but it teaches you a lot of learning to cope with being away from everything/everyone you know. independence is grrrreat. :)
Five years ago I moved from Northern California to Washington, D.C. then after four years I moved from D.C. to NYC. It was culture shock, difficult (moving from a state where even infants have their own cars to taking public transportation was definitely different), but it has been a great experience. I feel like a modern pioneer…
