Use my time more efficiently

this will also help me achieve my other goals. I waste way too much time online.

having a career, a husband, a young child, a social life (who am I kidding, what social life?)... time to work on this goal.

I started using a Blackberry to plan out what I want to accomplish each day – and it’s been a true help in helping me use my time more efficiently.

I get a nice balance now of personal activity and work all in a day!

I just wrote an entry about this, but the damn Internet here at school is total S*, so when I clicked “save this entry” it did not work, and my stuff was gone when I clicked “back.” Note to self: always copy-paste!!!

So, my seven things I want to do instead of wasting time:
1. Write
2. Homework
3. Study
4. Art
5. Read spiritual books
6. Chant on my spiritual beads
7. Take care of my fish

When I say write, I don’t mean blog writing, or writing for my fiction class. I mean working on my novel-length stories, because I hope to finish them sometime soon. I am thinking of doing NaNoWriMo on one of them, just to finish it…and then I can go back and fix quality later on.

Art, I have been longing to do lately, ever since my art class last year. And I haven’t been. Homework and study I’m pretty good on, except sometimes I get distracted by talking to people or whatever instead of working.

Chanting I am supposed to do twice a day, but I tend to do it off-and-on, maybe every few days, instead. Reading spiritual books I REALLY need to improve upon! There are so many books out there I should read.

I am a beginner fish caretaker and fish are hard to take care of, but even so, I need to pay more attention to the needs of my fish.

Any suggestions for how I improve on how I utilize my time?

“Use my time more efficiently” is a very vague goal, but I think I have met it now. I am juggling a new baby, household and an education, and it works. That’s efficient.

I’ve organized some events, and live a busy life. It’s made me realize the use of being on time & following a schedule. Also, doing things as soon as I can (why do tommorow what you can do it today?) has proven invaluable (mainly because if you do it right away, you’re still in the mode of doing it, whereas, if you put it off, you build up a mindset of not wanting to do it.

I’ve started taking classes at a university, there are no physical meetings, instead they offer all the lectures over the Internet. This means that I can study in whatever pace I choose. It also means that I have to manage my time more efficiently.

I am trying to study little by little so I don’t end upp having to take cramsessions by the deadlines, and I am doing well, but not as well as I would like.

1. Lesson plans for week 8-9 for my postgraduate students.
2. Write a “thank you” letter for Janine.
3. Compose an invitation letter and send it to Mama this coming week.
4. Watch Mission Impossible 3.
5. Call my kids and mom later this afternoon.
6. Enjoy bubble bath now!hehe
