learn Argentine Tango.

I was taking lessons in Boston but quit mostly due to relationship issues. I’d love to dance it again, only now I don’t have a partner =/

I’ve only gotten into this reccently, but everytime i watch the tango – in particular the Argentine Tango – I feel like getting up and dancing around the room. There is something so passionate and exciting about it. Now all i have to do is find a partner…

My dad’s side of the family is from Argentina. I took some Argentine tango lessons about 3 years ago. Kinda wanna try it again, sometime…

I’ve been to a few dances around town and could follow the basics, but I need a private lesson with someone who can teach me the tango-specific patterns that other dances don’t have (like crossing the feet, ochos, stepping over the guy’s leg…) I need to learn when I can do those things or what a lead to do those things feels like.

I saw this program on BBC4 about how the tango was a symbol of rebellion for the surpressed poor in Argentina. They had no money or freedom, but they could dance! It totally blew me away. Now people come from all over the world to take part in a unique community. Not to mention it’s beautiful and very sexy.

Love swing dancing, love blues type swing dancing…but closed embrace Tango just seems so sensual and…yummy. Will have to check into it this summer I think.
