I’ve finished building the web site for my church! If you want the URL, ask me and I’ll give it to you. It seems to have passed the brother test and I expect that the pastor will like it tomorrow when he reads his mail. I finished the project within one week and got it done five days before deadline. 7 years ago

Well, I started stylizing the church campaign web site today. I started with picking colors, doing some quick layout mockups in MS Visio, then I got to work creating the header. It involved tweaking some HTML until things looked exactly right and whipping up a quick gradient image. The title came next. I had to take someone’s logo for a mailer, scale it down, smooth it out, and give it transparency. It looks pretty good. I then created the main text area, a two column layout. I tried it using CSS and absolute placement, but I found that with different fonts and different sizes, it would mess with the placement of the footer. I wound up sticking with a traditional table layout for that component of the site.
The other pages should fall into line tomorrow after I watch the kids, and I expect site completion in exactly a week of receiving the assignment. 7 years ago
