at the opening, my old painting teacher commented how great it is that I’ve worked at these two galleries. til recently, I’d been comparing everything to Opalka. the two are very different. but I guess Martinez has some good things for me. certainly more to accomplish since it’s just me and the boss. and I know more of what goes on besides sitting behind a desk and doing installs.
the boss did ask some about the pricing. why they weren’t on the wall. well, I priced what I thought I could. the remaining either I was unsure of the artist, not labeled on the piece. or I couldn’t find those pieces with prices in the file. next week I’m supposed to look some up again. not sure how I’ll get any different a result than the first time of looking them up. but ok. I’ll do more, and someday take it over. and find funding, so I could make a pretty penny. there’s a plan 2 years ago

it’s almost like I have my own. I’m still at Opalka for installs. but I now have hours at a real one too. and I would think considering how new I am there, the boss has given me a good amount of responsibility. all of which I can handle. one of the “galleristas” (I like the title) recently left. I’ve been taking on those hours. 3 years ago

There’s been a suggestion of location after graduation. One is aware of it, and knows the curator there. and it sounded like it’s similar work to what I’ve done the past four years. A change of location would be nice. 4 years ago

I was talking with a friend the other day, and she told me that she thought of the perfect job for me. to work at an art gallery with a coffee shop in it. that would be perfect. of course I’d get to learn how to make all the fancy coffee drinks, and I would be willing to drink anything I happened to mess up. I’m enjoying the days I’m working this summer. the gallery on campus gets slow sometimes, but it kind of balances out the amount that show up for the openings. 5 years ago

I don’t have my own, but I’ve gotten to work more hours at the gallery on campus this semester. I think over the summer I’ll have even more if there are only two of us working. I also have a diptych painting in the “Passing the Torch” show, which opens tomorrow. A senior invited me to put one of my works in it. It’s a step closer. 6 years ago

It’s only been about 6 weeks of classes, but already I see an improvment in my work since the first week in 2D Design. It’s a good sign, wonder what will happen the rest of these 4 years 7 years ago
