and I really want something that shapes them the way I want, lifts, separates, and supports. Also I don’t want it to look all grandma like. I want something sexy that I won’t be ashamed to be wearing around my husband. I’m willing to spend damn near anything. If any of ya’ll ladies out there have suggestions PLEASE let me know.
I hate bra shopping. Hate it. I can never find a bra that actually fits my boobs right. I always just find a bra that’s the size the old woman who measured me tells me it is and I deal with it. But today, I found the perfect bra.
My mom wanted me to go into Lane Bryant before we left the mall just to “see what was inside” and I was wandering around and randomly headed towards the bra section. I figured maybe these bras would do the trick because it’s a plus size store (and I am plus size), so I asked to be fitted. At first the woman told me I was a 38H (WTF?) and that I would have to order them offline. I was kind of incredulous…who the fuck wears an H cup? I’ve been a 38C and a 42DD and everything inbetween, but never had I been told I was (or even heard of) an H cup. A second woman from the store brought me the “equivalents” of the H cup – 40DDD, 38D, etc. This went on for the better part of 2 hours until, finally, the “perfect equivalent” was handed to me under the dressing room door from this woman, Elsie (to whom I am forever grateful), and I put it on. Holy mother of god, my boobs were so fucking happy. I felt like one of those people who were on Oprah the day she talked about bras and gave them all fittings – perfect lift and separation! And better yet, I look thinner! It’s the fucking wonder bra, and its name is Cacique Plunge.

Oh its sooo worth it. I am 24, and till only a few months ago I had no clue what my bra size was. I just bought whatever was cheapest and that was that. Now I’m realizing that I am a woman, and I should treat myself like a lady a goddess if you will =P.
So I bravely went into one of the “pretty undie” stores and bluntly asked someone that worked there “I have no idea what to do”. The girl that helped me was amazing, she was so understanding. She brought me so many bras in the dressing room and told me how they should feel and how the straps go. I didn’t feel so dumb as I prolly should have =P I bought a bunch of really lacy ones and some simple ones. They all were so much more comfortable and prettier than any other ones that I had.
I feel so girly and sensual. =)
So far I really love La Vive En Rose, just a suggestion ;)
haha, just found a cute strapless bra. now I just need to find a dress and shoes…. :)
Oh so definately worth it! You are not really living until you are living with the perfect bra. It’s definately a must to be measured properly first, since more than 8/10 women wear the wrong bra size (I learned that on Oprah). There are so many bra-fauz-pas out there. And it’s so wonderful to find the one that fits just right. :) I actually went bra shopping with a girlfriend today and bought a super pretty one that I’m excited about. The one in the picture ^. hehe.. What a girly dork I am. :P
