In the week that has just finished, I made steps towards 10 of my first 12 goals, which I am pretty impressed with. Hopefully the progress will continue this week, and I’ll try to pay particular attention to the goals I neglected this week – getting some really good photos of my cat, and selling or giving away my excess belongings.

I have been really rubbish about even trying to reach this goal, but I reckon this could be the week for it!
I have re-ordered my list a little, and I now think it’s achievable to progress with each of these this week. Reports to follow under individual goal headings…

For the past year or more far too much of my energy has been used up on job hunting and worrying about money. Now these are sorted, or nearly, I can focus on a broader range of things and really have some fun. Looking at my 43things list now, it looks very different without the two black clouds floating at the top – it’s a range of experiences that I actually look forward to having, rather than a list of must-dos.
For now this goal will stay because I want a reminder of the need to spread my attention across a range of goals but I’m hoping that soon it won’t be necessary as my work/life/fun balances settles down.

Or at least limit myself severely. It sneaks up on me, makes my brain go all fuzzy, distracts me with bright flashy lights, and then steals my time. And there’s no way I’m going to find time to work towards all my goals if I keep letting it.

Last week I made progress on most of my aims 1-12, but in particular I didn’t do as much as I wanted on film-making, cooking, plastering & staying in touch. So these should get extra attention this week.
The problem is, I don’t see any gaps where I can actually fit in cooking this week, especially cos I’m away visiting my folks for a few days – at least this counts for staying in touch though! Maybe I could get my mum (or dad) to teach me how to cook something :-?
Film-making – I must finish the synopsis for my new idea, and start writing the script. Train journey, maybe?
Also, I will call at least one university friend this week – again, perhaps while I’m on the long train journey up to Cheshire.
Not sure what progress I can make on plastering at the mo – will have to have a think about that…

...and looking back at the week, even though I only set this goal a couple of days ago, I think I have managed it for this week.
Some of the steps have only been baby steps, some only the clarifying of my thoughts about what I want to do. But they should allow me to make bigger steps next week.

The idea of making this list is to try to achieve them all, but I fear it could be too easy to concentrate on the easier or less important aims, while neglecting the big ones.
Consequently, I’ve decided that I must make at least some progress towards each goal every week. Well not every one – some are so long term that I’m not ready to start yet, and others are out of my hands (“Dita, come to Europe!”) as of yet – hence the focus on 1-12.
Weeks will run Monday to Sunday – I have to be specific, so there’s no room for cheating!
