live eternally-minded

To live in light of eternity, not just the here and now. SOO hard. But i will, because theres more to life than jsut this.

my inspiration:

“For our light afflications, which are but for a moment, worketh in us are a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory 18 Looking not to the unseen but to the seen, for the things which are seen are temporary but the things which are unseen are eternal”

~ 2 Cor 4:17,18

I’ll save this for a later date…So right now I give up.

This poem talks about a tapestry- the sheet your grandma probably has knitted on. It has a picture on one side, in threads, but on the underside is a hopeless mess of strings. It gives me great hope in living for eternity:

My life is but a weaving, between my Lord and me.I cannot choose the colors, He workith steadily.

Oft times He weavith sorrow, and I in foolish pride,Forget that He seeth the upper and I the underside.

Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly,Will God unroll the canvas, and explain the reason why;

The dark threads are as needful, in the Weaver’s skillful hand,As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.

and I’m at a point in my life and in my walk with God where I want to make a real difference. I’ve wondered for years how to do that and time and time again I’ve found that true purpose is wrapped up in what you do for God. There’s this old song that says “only what you do for Christ will last” and that’s so true. Nothing else makes a difference. I’m so over wasting my time on things that don’t really make a difference in the end. I’ve decided to LIVE FOR ETERNITY!

This life is not my home. I’m just a passerby. I want everything I do on Earth to impact eternity. Life is too short to live for this life.
