do more things to bring beauty into the world

I am beautifying the world BIG TIME right now by redecorating my daughters’ room. We moved our old pencil-post canopy bed in there, bought new sheets and a satin comforter, and are framing some art for the walls. The girls (Mamie, Kate, and Zoe Rose) are out of their minds with joy, and so am I.

I made two batches of soap this morning with four of the children. Simon did most of the work himself, while the younger children cheered him on.

I also made six loaves of bread, which also counts toward this goal, IMO.

I used LumaPix FotoFusion, very nice and extremely affordable collaging software. I need to do this more often, as I have just thousands of photos!

This morning’s effort towards the goal of bringing more beauty into the world was to make my daughter Kate a triple-layer strawberry cake, with strawberry cream-cheese frosting. It really took very little effort, and although my frosting came out more glazy than frosty, it’s delicious and should be a real treat. Kate turns five tomorrow!
