I think of this, but thinking is not the same as living it. I have watercolours, lying in wait, perfect for the experience of being in the midst of this timeless place, in a riot of colour, a tumult of blooms and scents, poised with brush and energy. I cannot imagine capturing but a fragment of all the senses and history. It’s what I want today.

I knew impressionism existed, but wasn’t hard core or anything, but one day I found myself in the Musee D’Orsay, and I fell in love forever.
The use of light and the diverse colours fill my life with joy. I’ve got impressionism all over my computer, and my uncle even gave us an impressionist style painting he made.
I think if I go to Giverny I’ll cry tears of joy.

I am pleased to hear that the recently stolen Monet painting has been recovered. I am particularly fond of the vibrancy of the colour in this work (Poppies Near Vetheuil).

Ivymere continually searches for her ground, her sky, and herself
Amazing place

The house itself was not extremely memorable to me. It was fascinating, don’t get me wrong. I love the whole Giverny place, though. His gardens are what you truly want to see!!!
They didn’t allow cameras inside the house but they did in the gardens and I’m glad because the gardens are BEAUTIFUL. They are breathtaking and the scenery’s amazing. I can totally see how Monet was inspired there. :) If I go back, I’d so go back for the gardens.

I read the book “Linnea in Monet’s Garden” when I was a child, and wanted to go there ever since. My dream was to have my picture taken on the Japanese Bridge just like in the book. It was one of the best experiences of my life, wandering through his garden and exploring the rooms of the pink house. I can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful! The gardens, the bridge, they all really exist. The only thing I regretted about the visit was that I didn’t have my camera with me.

I loved visiting his house. It was almost worth it for just seeing the gardens to understand the inspiration.

I have never seen so many flowers in one place in my life. Amazing. A lot of them I’d never seen before. The house was very nice too. Especially the dining room (yellow) and the kitchen (blue everything and copper pots.)
The most important thing to know if you’re planning a visit is to go in the off season! Fall or spring, during the week. I made the mistake of going in August and it was like riding the métro at rush hour – just packed.
Don’t forget the visit The American Art Museum which has some wonderful pieces. It’s really close, just a few minutes by foot.
