bootgirl starting her 43 things list
1st step- set a budget.
even though my sister and I are now adults, we all meet up at least once a year and go see something together. When I was a kid, we’d drive to some place in state or a few hours away, but now we go a little farther afield. I think one of the reasons why I love to travel is that my parents took us on trips so often. Our closest relatives were four to six hours away, so we had to travel pretty far to see anyone. My parents also liked seeing new places and new cities rather than going to resorts or theme parks every year like my friends’ families.
So I’ve made air and hotel reservations on Maui in November. I am soooo excited. We’ve been saying we were going to take a vacation for years now and it never materialized and now I think it’s a go!! The boys will have so much fun. The only thing I’m not looking forward to is the although direct but long flight and the trip back w/ an hours long layover at LAX. We’ll have to make the best of that too!! Hopefully I’ll have my camera by then so I can take some great pix..who know’s when our next vaca will be.
We are planning to take our kids on a vacation – and it is the first one in a very long time. I am finding it hard to look forward to it because of all the expenses. I read today that there are three kinds of pleasure: anticipatory, actual, and remembered. I’d like to get some anticipatory pleasure going and look forward to this! It will be important for all of us because we need to get away desperately. Puerto Rico, here we come.
I guess we did this. We drove to Denver to watch the Braves play the Rockies.
My wife’s parents are taking us to Disneyland next month! Yay
daydreamingmom wondering why I haven't done these things on this list in the last yea
After a 12 hour car ride with 2 little boys (3 and 1) we had a wonderful time at a family reunion in Indiana Beach. I can’t believe that our marriage survived, lol. But it was well worth it and I hope that we are able to take a week long family vacation every year. I am confident that our sanity can survive the travel, now if I can just figure out a way to pay for it every year, without adding more debt, of course…
I’m calling this one done. I took my kids and myself to Washington State with my best friend and her girl. While my husband wasn’t there, I’m counting it anyway. It was great! We’re already planning our next trip – to San Antonio next summer. Woo-hoo!
