attend a Society of Friends meeting

but not in a heavy-handed aren’t we all so good way
not icky
nor colored, that is a particular style standing out

The Wednesday worship meetings last only for half an hour. There were eleven people there. One woman spoke after a while. She reflected that at this time of year many people think of death, and of birth. She’d been to see Downfall, a film about Hitler’s last days, and the cult of suicide that sprang up amongst the people in the bunker. Hitler’s secretary, however, decided to leave Berlin, saying I must try, which this lady interpreted as I must try – for life. Quite inspiring!

I really enjoyed it as a form of worship. I hope to start attending more regularly next semester.

I attended a Soc. of Friends school, so I’ve done that, about 4,000 times, twice a week for several years. When in the proper frame of mind, it was incredible. Unfortunately at the age of 14, being in the proper frame of mind isn;t always easy!!!
I’ve been back as an adult. I personally prefer the smaller meetings- that the big mega meetings, and the silent ones, compared to the friends meetings in the south…(of which many are no longer silent.)

so many sects of Friends, and yet, my favorite space is going & being with people and sitting in silence. Bliss.
