I’ve never been bad with my money per say
I just never cared.
My way of thinking has always been if I’ve got shelter, healthy food in the fridge, and can afford to enjoy the simple things in life I love then I’m happy;
art, music, travel, conversations, learning.
But lately.. I don’t know.. I feel the urge to spread my wings, build something; investing, starting corporation, and nonprofit, writing my book, selling art, collaborating with people, all this getting my ducks in a row beginning with strengthening my credit.
This’ll be quite the challenge since all I make is SSI and I’m $1500 in default from being young and stupid, but I’ve got an idea what to do next..
I already have checking with both Chase and B of A.
I applied for a secured credit card with B of A.
I opened a savings account with an e-bank that has excellent interest.
As soon as I get approved for that credit card I’ll apply for financing on a video camera.

I’ve decided to make small weekly payments rather than just one big monthly payment as a way to lower my daily balance thing and make payments more…possible. I’ve been able to keep the one card current…but the other one is really tough right now. I need to call them and try to work something out.

I’m moving back home so I won’t have to pay rent. When I get a new job I plan to start paying my debts back one item at a time. I’m excited about getting this back under control, I think I can get rid of my bad debt in 2 years, max. We’ll see!

I’m very free with my money because it doesn’t hold so much importance to me, and I really need to stop that shit. Due to my last relationship, my credit got flipped completely upside down. I need to dig myself out of debt and get myself back on the up and up. I can’t rent an RV to travel the Americas with bad credit.

I'm impressed.

I got my credit report the other day, and it really isn’t that bad. The only negative things affecting my credit are some really old medical bills, and all together they might add up to $2000. One problem though-because I’ve always either co-signed, or had a co-signer, I don’t actually have much credit. That’s sad. You would think that because my credit report has very little on it, it would be a good thing-but no. Oh well.

Apparently my credit isn’t so bad after all. I’ve been living away from my home country for some time and really just ignored the issue. Now I’m back and am taking a hard look at everything in my life. It’s time for me to grow up. I don’t have a man to take care of me anymore. I have to learn to handle these things on my own. It’s frightening to be nearly 40 and realize I know absolutely nothing about money, finances or taking care of myself.
When I opened my checking account a couple of months ago they gave me a credit card. Things couldn’t be too bad then, eh? I do not like carrying debt, so I will use it only for items I already have the money for. My only debt is my student loan, but that’s in default. I may have some ugly things on my credit report going back to my first marriage, but I don’t really know.
What I do know: I need to take the steps necessary to find out what my credit score is and take care of any negative marks. No one else is going to do it for me.

Fix My Credit
Getting rid of the errors was and still is the hardest part of the process. I have been trying to fix my credit for about a year and a half now. The only negative marks are inquiries I did not approve or false information on the reports. You’d think the credit reporting agencies would try to work with you!

Fix My Credit
With my recent seperation from my husband going on a month now…I’ve decided that in order to stand on my own 2 feet I need to pay off my debts and get my credit in order. I don’t want to be in the situation that if we get back together and I decide for sure I want to leave and its over..I want the freedom to be able to do what I need to. I have already got my credit report and my last paycheck started to payoff one of my debtors.
