buy a cabin in the mountains

I’ve grown up in Arkansas. Besides being born in Missouri, and a few years in Texas, the remaining seventeen years have been spent here. I feel tied to this country in a good way.

I’ve always just wanted a small cabin in the woods, with plenty of land for the horses and dogs and whatever other stray animals I bring home.

Heaven, at least to me.

I have made an offer on a small place in the mountains. It’s about 900 square feet. It needs a bit of interior – shall we say – asthetic work? It is not to my tastes and must be changed. I’m beginning to price out the remodel – should come in for under $20K – this is a total gutting of the flooring, repainting of the walls and installation of hardwood floors throughout. I’m thinking of dark oak…
