Feeling Hopeful is a *Self-Knowing Self-Improving Believer* (43T Personality Test)
It brought back memories. I used to swim at night when I was in college the first time in the mid 1990s. It was wonderful on those nights where it was still hot and humid even after the sun went down.
Now whenever my husband and I stay anywhere during the summertime that has a pool, we swim in it late at night.
Seeing this on someone’s list made me realize in a few months, it will be warm enough to do this again.
To anyone who hasn’t gone swimming at night, it is definately worth doing!
I don’t care if its in the ocean or a lake or even in some big glass indoor swimming pool, i’d love to swim at night :)
Last night I washed my face and brushed my teeth in candlelight to Soundscapes. It was so nice to create a ‘spa moment’ for myself.
While staying at a hotel near the beach in florida last winter, a group of friends and I soaked in a hot Jacuzzi and then ran through the chilly night into the cold ocean water. Its thrilling and gets you pumped. There are plenty of places to swim at night, and ways to make it fun. Let me know if you need someone to join you!
I’m enjoying stretching on the floor when the TV is on.
I walked in the rain at night without an umbrella.
I’ve been shaving everywhere (still learning how to prevent irritation)
Got another pedicure (didn’t feel as guilty this time)
I’m learning to be more ergonomic at work (e.g. raised my monitor up on some books), and I walk outside midday.
Taking after-dinner walks
Getting in shape (diet and exercise)
Signed up for yoga
In the shower rinsing with cooler water – feels great
Got haircut
Got a self-help CD
Planning a real vacation for October
scheduled teeth cleaning
Will massage self tonight (lower legs and feet)
Got comfy couch, got pedicure, shaved legs, waxed underarms, exfoliated, did desk stretches, massaged neck, working on some of the other things on the list.
This goal is about doing things that feel good and soothe the body. I usually neglect myself. Some ideas:
nap, especially under a shady tree
stretch outside in a breeze after a run
get a massage, or massage myself (including feet)
try a body treatment (hot stones, mud bath, acupuncture, chiropractor, other things I’ve never experienced)
get smooth: exfoliate, wax/shave, pedicure
get in shape: to raise my normal level of physical well-being (flexibility, strength, endurance, BMI, health food, water, sleep schedule)
try a fun dance class and get into yoga
find comfortable cute pjs, outfits, sandals
relax with face mask, cucumber eyes, deep conditioner and guided relaxation CD
get fresh: facial, haircut, and teeth cleaning
scented oil bath with candles and music
jump in cold water when it’s hot outside, dry in the sun, repeat
get into morning running routine
don’t smoke/drink … deep breathe and drink water instead
back therapy DVDs
after dinner walks
go on a real vacation
get and listen to a self-esteem CD
get a more comfortable couch
move around at work (exercise at desk and go outside)
run in the rain
I used to live in L.A. in a building with an outdoor pool. I would swim at night, when the air was cool and the water was warm. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, I loved it. I wish I could do it again. I don’t think it’s a possibility here. I’ll have to think about how to accomplish this goal.
