get the dead trees taken out of my yard

there are no more dead trees that I can see. The ones that are hidden in foliage can darn well stay there for a while. This goal was a pain in the butt, but worth it.

he was between jobs and asked if we had anything for him. Of course, we did.

It was just incidental that I mentioned the trees, and he said he could handle the trees that were already down. He cut them up with his chainsaw and transported them to the burn hole that had already been dug.

So, the status now is this: All the visible downed trees are gone. There are still a few that I can’t see for the lush undergrowth. They can wait till winter.

I still have a big burn hole in the middle of the woods. I worry that a deer will stumble into it and hurt itself, but it is mostly surrounded by dirt piles.

pushed one of my uprooted trees into his burn hole and incinerated it for me. He also took some of the small trees at the front of my property that had been downed by the winds.

What a nice guy! I need to do something nice for him and his wife.

A few weeks ago, a tornado touched down on the next street over from ours. It was the closest I have ever been to a tornado. Everything in the house was rattling.

We were mostly spared, but the tree situation is worse than ever. One tree behind the house was totally uprooted. One in the front was snapped in two like a matchstick. Others were just blown over. Luckily, the dead ones were all down from the tree man’s visits in January/February, or they could have hit our house or a neighbor’s.

Rain and soggy soil have delayed the completion of this goal. Hoping for some dry weather so they can get in and finish up!

since it has decided to rain all weekend. The guy says he will not do it if it has been rainy, because then, knocking trees over will leave big holes. I trust him to know his business, because I surely don’t!

The guy is coming Monday and taking any dead or pine-beetle infested trees out. Also taking fallen ones, and he will burn them all in a spot we have chosen. Then we will see if there is any more I want done.

Very. My hub offered to get me a diamond for our anniversary next year, and I said . . . yanno, I think I would rather have some of those trees taken out and some of the land cleared.

What am I, nuts???
