this is a great goal 21 months ago

although i dont agree that its as easy as the person below me claims, i do feel its an easier stepping stone goal to quiting than the pipe dream of doing it cold turkey, w/ OR w/out medication. i’m down to 3 a day after being a pack a day smoker, the hardest part is being around friends who smoke, and even hard when alcohol is involved, but the goal is not impossible. it actually feels good once you gain the upper hand on the addiction, it feels empowering i guess, although i hate that word.

do it do it do it! its all in your head. ive quit smoking. all you have to do is just to pretend like youve never been an addict, like you never smoked it your life. throw all the packs away right now.

Blah.

I’m up to about 2 packs a day.

NOT COOL.

smoking.....i should at least cut down 3 years ago

last year i noticed i was up to 2 packs a day. I really dont have any desire at all to QUIT tho I’d love it if that “just happened”. It bothers me that I smoke so MUCH tho. Just one after the other when I’m on the computer esp.

It's Getting Worse 4 years ago

I have been smoking the age of 21 (other than when I was pregnant with my son). During that time I have always smoked between 5-7 cigarettes. My ex-boyfriend was a pretty heavy smoker and I got in the habit of smoking “with” him, which lead me to smoking about a half a pack a day. My present boyfriend is a very heavy smoker and I’ve started smoking even more with him to the point of where some days I’m almost up to a pack. The funny thing is that I have been running every other day for 25 years, and I’m a vegetarian. It makes no sense! I honestly have to say I don’t feel ready to quit, but I’d like to get back to smoking only 5 cigarettes a day.

I’m consistantly under a pack a day now, and usually under half a pack. I should clarify that I’m not trying to quit—just stop smoking so much. I’d like it to be luxury rather than seeming necessity.
