It’s worth it when you meet people who like the band, and when people ask you about it.
I should have bought an InMe t-shirt from my first gig just for the memories – so mad I didn’t now. xD but from now on I’m gonna buy one from every gig I go to.
first band t-shirt I bought at a gig was a Bring Me The Horizon one from when I saw them supporting Lostprophets – I love it. =]
I like to do this for local artists who aren’t getting airtime on MTV and aren’t on the national charts. I’d much rather support the smaller bands on their way up than prop up the mega popular or well known bands.
I also think it’s great to wear t-shirts from bands which have already disbanded. It’s kind away to pay homage to bands that have valiently fought the fight for recognition but didn’t make it. I’ve had some interesting responses to t-shirts I’ve worn to shows. Some of my favorite old shirts are from:
Vomit Launch
The Guttersluts
100 Watt Smile
