Don't care.

One one of my previous entries someone said, “I don’t really like basketball, and I’m not going to try to like it.”
Why try to like something? Isn’t that forcing myself to be something I’m not? It’s one thing if it’s a major character flaw, but some things, such as dancing, are due to preferences, not flaws.
If it ever happens, let’s call it a pleasant turn of events, something nobody ever saw coming.

As of last Friday, I still don’t like dancing. I danced briefly at a dance party (now why the heck would I subject myself to that?) and yeah… it was as just as unenjoyable as the last time I tried.

Molly got me to slow dance again. It was her birthday this time. She knows how to take advantage of my good manners with stuff like that. What a jerk.
Just kidding. Molly is awesome.
Dancing is still awkward though. Not sure how to fix that.

Last night at The Grad my good friend Molly got me on the dance floor. The combination of Alison Krauss playing and the fact that it was her final dance before she leaves for Thailand for three months is what made it happen.
Whether or not that means I’m headed down the road to actually enjoying dancing is still unclear. But it was a nice goodbye gift to Molly if nothing else.
Are you happy now, Kim?

Dancing, or more specifically, dancing around other people… I can’t do it. It has something to do with me being too self-conscious as well as not being sure if I’m any good at it or not. Kind of a downward spiral when you put the two together. I don’t dance around others because I think I look stupid, and I think I look stupid because I don’t get practice by dancing around others.
