"I'm not going to get rich doing this, but I now know that I can earn a yearly profit using Ebay."
How I did it: I opened an Ebay store and continuously loaded it with fresh inventory. Well, I say fresh, the vast majority of the inventory comes from flea markets, estate sales, church sales, thrift stores and antique malls.
I don't bother with wholesaling or dropshipping!
I chose to focus primarily on a mixture of crafting items (sewing patterns, crochet/knitting books and patterns, cross stitch charts, crafting supplies) and books. I selected those because they are easy and low-cost to ship without worrying about breakage.
Lessons & tips: Get a niche! You don't have to be very specific about, but a general theme helps make listings and sourcing inventory a lot easier. Focusing on crafts and books worked for me. Just find out what works for you. It could be something you already collect or are interested in.
I try my best to keep my inventory around 1000. That sounds like a
high number, but it really helps. I have most items in store, but also
use Fixed Price and Auction listings to give my wares more exposure.
Finally, I use the GoogleBase data feed to keep my inventory listed via
Google. To learn more about GoogleBase, check it out via Google. It
is a great tool!
