Wow, I can’t believe I finally finished it. Quite a good read.
I’ve never belonged to any of these groups that sit around and discuss books after reading them. For once, I would like to sit in a group and discuss this book.
I would like to know what people thought of the relationship between the protagonists? What people thought of Florentino Ariza and his love for Fermina Daza. Etc.

I’m now 80% done. Despite my slow reading, this IS a good book. The reason it is going slow is because it’s not a “page turner”. It’s not the most exciting and fun book in the world, but it IS good and well-worth reading.
While I am reading it, I don’t want to put it down. But once I put it down, I don’t feel like picking it up again for a few days. Oh well.
I hope to have it finished by Monday. :D

It’s slow going, but it’s a good book. I really enjoy it while I’m reading it. Unfortunately, it’s not one of those books you can’t put down. And once I put it down, I have trouble picking it up again for a day or two.
But I will say it’s a delightful mix of romance and love-making with the perfect amount of action thrown in to spice it up like salt. (Hey, I’m a guy. An 500 pages of romance and love-making isn’t gonna cut it.)

I am on page 173 of 479.
Fermina Daza has just argued with the Mother Superior of her school about the identity of the suitor who has convinced them to clear her record.
It’s really a good book. I am liking it. Although, when I am not very motivated to read right now.

I’m about 1/3 of the way thru. It’s a really good read … not a page-turner, but pretty good.
It seems like it will have some more substantial redeming qualities in comparison with “100 Years”.
