swim with seals

I really want to do this, and soon it will actually be a possibility!
Me and my mum are going on a holiday to the Sunshine Coast next month, and i’ve begged her to let me go to Underwater World. Not just because she knows all about my list, but coz it’ll just be heaps of fun! I’ll keep ya’all posted…

I had such a great time in La Paz about 7 years ago. I’d love to go there again. We swam around a tiny “island”, there were seals all over the place. A little playful seal swam along us all the way around. I couldn’t believe how friendly they were.

Underwater World yesterday was a treat! First we watched the seal show, then I got a seal kiss (see photo), then we went behind the scenes and got to see the backstage area, then we jumped in the tank! There were four seals in with us – wait, that’s a lie! I think there were two fur seals and two sea lions, or three/one. There was this HUGE sea lion called Groucho, he was about 170kg and he just did laps of the tank basically. The cutest one was Oscar, a little guy only 18 months old, who looooooved attention and had big brown eyes and he was SO CUTE.

My mother randomly won a ticket to go swim with the seals at underwater world on the sunshine coast. Last week, she was all like, “So do you want this, because I don’t think I’ve got the time or inclination to get up there…” I was like, HELLZ YEAH. MAN. I’M SO PUMPED FOR THIS. I’ve got until December to action on it, too, so I can work on the whole “how can I bear anyone in the world seeing me in swimming gear” thing before tackling the seal swimming.
