Try not to get so down when my favorite baseball team loses.

but I think that’s life. You have to risk, to put your heart out there and feel, and when your team doesn’t go all the way, it hurts. My team was only 4 wins away from the World Series. I should take that as an extreme positive into the next season, into spring training 2007, and I believe I will. But right now….it still hurts.

The Oakland A’s 2006 season came to end with an abrupt loss in the 4th game of the ALCS. What a way to lose…embarrassing. I will carry this loss, this feeling of utter loss, with me for awhile. I must admit it was easier today than it’s ever been, having my partner and her two sons around to share it with. We all feel dismal about it.

The Oakland A’s lose a chance to go to the playoffs, and I get depressed. Actually, it’s now extended to every game they lose, especially if I’m there at the game. I take it personally, like I’m their bad-luck charm. I’d like to be more even about this…it IS just a game, right?
