I got scales, intervals, and learned Mary Had a Little Lamb and the first few notes of Fur Elise. Might be easier if my fingers actually fit on the stupid little keyboard, but hey. I’m actually learning something :).

How I did it: I started piano lessons when I was eight years old. I continued taking them until I graduated from high school and went away to college, so ten years. My piano teacher is one of the most wonderful people I know, and it helped having such a wonderful role model. And I also practiced a lot. My goal was to reach the point where I could sit down and sightread just about anything, and I can do that now! I still pl… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I really wanted to learn how to play the song Bella's Lullaby" from Twilight so i printed out the music and started learning it key by key. There was an old keyboard in the attic of my house and it shows what note each key is so i just used that and listened to the song until i could play it. I spent about 4-6 hours each day learning it. Next up is "River Flows In You" by Yiruma. Read how I did it…

How I did it: It was one of my childhood dreams to learn to play the piano. A year ago I bought a relatively cheap digital piano but I couldn’t afford to take lessons. I got a few pieces of sheet music of children’s songs I knew well, and started teaching myself. It took me a while because I really never learned to read music, at least not very well. Bar by bar, I finely wrote in pencil the letters for the notes I remembered next to each note. The… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Learning piano is not something you can do in a week. It takes years to get any good, and you can never be "finished" learning piano, or any instrument for that matter. I started taking lessons in 3rd grade, and have been taking them with the same teacher ever since. I get better every day, but the most important thing is to practice. Read how I did it…

I inherited a piano, the upright kind that looks like an organ because it plugs in, but it’s a piano. My Dad’s twin brother passed away and now it is mine. He was an extraordinary musician and I want to do him proud with this gift and learn to use it. But having taken no lessons and being almost 33, I don’t know where to begin…

I few years ago I did play the piano. I really love the sounds that it makes and the composing that can be created. But my piano teacher was never serious about teaching me and just constantly asked m how i thought about her appearance and hair. I felt that my time was being wasted. So I quit. now I want to start again. I’m thinking about practicing majors on my own but I think I should find an instructor.

Currently accomplishing step 1… learning to read music by taking MUSTH-101 course in my college.. =)
The inspiration for this came from that Bill Murray movie, ‘GroundHog Day’... you know in the film were he ‘borrows’ that money from the Armed Car, and with a $1000 buys his way into piano lessons. Then cut to the end were he is playin smokin’ keyboard in a band…(Oh an’ eventually win’s the girl of cause). The largest thing I see in this art or skill is time…as in investing in the time it takes to play the piano. The prize is gettin’ the girl.
I want to be able to play the piano. I tried the guitar but I find the strings too awkward to get my fingers on so I want to be able to play the piano for myself, my family and friends.
I have an awesome digital piano that unfortunately does not get used enough! When I do sit down to play it is usually just to play the pieces I learned years ago, by rote, and not to learn anything new or practice technique. I really need to work on this one!
I love a piano. They’re big and complicated and beautiful. There’s something so exquisite about just sitting and listening to Debussy or Mozart. I want to know how to play those songs I love so much.
