Am supposed to be going to Greece this summer with a friend, but I’m going to just book a flight anyway in the next week….need something to look forward to and I want to go earlier than him anyway, so there!! Can’t wait :)
How to go on holiday on my own
How I did it: Basically I was in Ecuador all summer, doig some charity work and then travelling, but for most of it I was travelling with friends. They went home after three weeks and I met up with different friends but they didn't want to do what I wanted to do and so in the end I just said"Right, f*ck it, I'm gonna do what I wanna do!" And so I did - I headed out to the coast and got there by myself, go a hostel, and I made friends, I learnt more spanish in that week that I had in all the weeks before that. It was the experience of my life.
It is easy...all you sometimes need is a little push!
Lessons & tips: Be brave.
Talk to people.
Smile.
Take part in things.
Don't just automatically hang out with the English speakers, go mix with the locals and learn their language.
Most of all. Do NOT feel bad when you are by yourself, for it is to be expected that you will be alone a lot more than you would normally be.
