How I did it: I googled to find out which choirs in my town exist. Then I picked that one that seemed best to me. We are singing a very nice Mendelssohn-programme. The choir leader is an extremely nice woman. The other members are nice, too. Then I wrote an email to the choir leader and asked whether I can join and she wrote back that I should just come by and get an impression. So I did^^I had to sing some tunes alone before practice started, just that… Read how I did it…

Michelle Lee Looking for friends
Hi, my name is Michelle and I live in (Los Angeles).
I would like to sing in a choir or ensemble either in a Church or
a secular group.
If anyone lives in my area (Woodland Hills) or (Los Angeles) and wants to join a choir with me, or has advice, please respond.
Thank you and God Bless.
I have missed singing soooo much. I’m hoping to find a choir to join once my life gets settled again.
I want to sing with other people. It’ll be uplifting and a good form of stress relief.
the audition part was the really scary of this whole thing, but certain events in my life pushed me to be adventurous and jump into things i normally find very uncomfortable. i decided to audition and it actually went really well! then i made the community choir! it’s going to be a lot of work, but well worth it.
I was in a mandatory semester of choir at my first college and loved it so much that I voluntarily joined a choir when I transferred to a new one.
Whoever wants to sing in a choir, do it! It’s so fun and you get to make friends!
Everyone should join a choir! The magic, joy and friendship that is created through singing with others is one of the most beautiful things in life. I’ve been in choirs since the age of 6, all through school and now at 21 I’m in two choirs. One is a classical chamber choir which sings a capella world music and pieces from new composers. The other is a performance choir that’s part of a larger organisation where singers receive training in stagecraft and performance. We sing a whole range of styles (from classical to musical theatre to popular) often with choreography. Both of the choirs I’m in are filled with amazingly talented musicians and performers, some trained/training singers and others not, but all with beautiful voices. I was once in a more community based choir (a classical choir of more than 100 people, what fun that was!)and found much the same thing. There are so many people out there who have amazing voices and musicality but have non-music-related jobs. It’s great to belong to a group of people who all share the same passion. I am a little saddened when some people have this set idea in their head of what a choir is, and think that they’re boring. Singing is never boring, and singing with other people is one of the most energising experiences. Even choirs which don’t have the greatest voices and sing purely for enjoyment can feel that.
and I would like to make some new friends that love music as much as me
at the latest I will join the choir of the university at the beginning of the next semester
yeah, I’m going to do that^^
MomentoVivere Now I need to focus on Time Management!!
Involving myself with a choir group in my local hometown.

“As an adult with no ties to a school- or church-type organization, where can I find out about informal (i.e., non-auditioned) local choirs?”
