I have a really fast motabolism that I’m starting to realize I’m taking for granted. I eat when I want and whatever I want with no reguards to any type of what it’ll do to me in the long run. I’ve realized that it’ll probably wear off soon and it’ll all start catching up to me.

I want to start working out more often so that no matter what I can keep myself the way I like.

I can't take it off the list yet... 4 months ago

I technically work out nearlly every day because I have a weight training class this semester but, I sometimes find it hard to get motiveated in there, you kneo? any way I acctually wanna gain weight like 5 pounds and I’m not goin to take this off the list until the end of the semester…..aight sounds good right…

So the spring semester has started... 5 months ago

and I’ve worked out every other day for the past week and a half. I have a bet going that I can make my 130 lb roommate gain 20 pounds by the end of the semester, and so it keeps me going to the gym and doing the same workouts that I make him do. I’m hoping to ultimately gain about 20 lbs of my own, and make significant improvement to my strength.

ok for this week 6 months ago

Accomplished goal of going to the gym 3 times this week. Yay! Let’s see how long I can keep this up. It helped a friend went with me every time. Hopefully she can keep on coming with me or I just have to get used to going to the gym on my own.

I’ve started working out again like I started back in May ‘08. I’ve slacked off for the last few months but recently have had some new motivation to get back in good shape, being single again. Starting slow with cardio and weights and will progress more over time. I’m at 225lbs right now and my goal is to lose 35 lbs of weight and add muscle weight. I want to be sure I don’t start out to fast and burn out, my goal is to work out 4-5 times a week. I want to work up so as to have a routine for each muscle group and different routines for cardio.

First day in the gym 7 months ago

I finally made it back into the gym for the first time in about 2 months. It felt good to finally get some blood pumping through my body and really experience some muscle soreness. I was only able to work out for about 20-30 minutes before I began to feel nauseous, but I know with some fairly hard work and consistency I can get back to 1 1/2 to 2 hour high-intensity workouts like I used to be able to do. Ever since shoulder surgery, I’ve been discouraged at the loss of strength and size and really only went to the gym in infrequent groupings. Hopefully, I can stay consistent long enough to get back into the habit and get back to a point where I am happy with my strength.

Here’s the workout from today:
Arnold press – 3×12 30 lbs
Dumbbell shrugs – 3×12 80 lbs
Dumbbell bench – 3×12 80 lbs
Tricep extension – 3×10 40 lbs
Concentration curls – 3×12 25 lbs
Dumbbell rows – 3×10 40 lbs
Wall squats – 1×20
Crunches – 1×20
Trunk rotations – 1×5 each side

A really short workout, but it got the blood pumping. Now I need to try and find time the rest of this week between studying and finals to keep it up.

finding the time 9 months ago

It has been so hard to find the time to do this. I work and go to school almost everyday. It is difficult to find the time let alone the energy to go to the gym. I have been trying to do more at home workouts. But even my time at home is limited to showering and sleeping and that is about all that I get to do. But this is something that is important to me so I need to FIND the time and quit making excuses. I will figure it out, so until then pray for me!!
