Lucrezea Still working away at the goals... one day I will update...
I wanted to get my passport for when we go to Great Britain, but now I have a more immediate purpose. The little nerd in me was saddened by the fact that she didn’t get to go frolic with all of the other little nerds at this years’ Anime Evolution in Vancouver, so I’m planning a group to go to Sakura Con in Seattle for next April.
The border laws have changed since the beginning of this month, so all Canadian citizens traveling to the U.S. must possess either a valid passport, enhanced ID/DL or a NEXUS card. I pondered the thought of just getting an enhanced ID because I thought my BC ID expired soon, but since it doesn’t expire until 2010, I’m going to get the passport. At least that way I won’t have to go through all of this again when my mother is healed and we’re ready for overseas travel.
I’ve got all of the forms and information bookmarked, so all I have to do is go get my photo done, deal with all of that guarantor bullshit, and send it in. I don’t think I will be able to do this until I’m back home in Vancouver and working again, but I’ve got all of the resources ready at least.

I need to apply for my passport to keep me motivated to make travel plans for the future. There’s so many places that I want to go, so I need to get my passport nice and early to reassure me that it will all happen.
I got in the queue at 7:20 a.m. and didn’t leave until nearly 8 hours later. It was mind numbing waiting that long, but I managed to get my paperwork sent it so that’s a huge relief.
It’s supposed to take anywhere from 3 to 10 weeks to get my passport.
I should have gotten a passport a long time ago… oh well, this is part of my goal to change my name so now I have a passport in my new name.
DONE! :-)
I have my application all filled out, and now I just need $97 to submit it and wait 10 weeks.
