When I moved to SF I ended up throwing so much stuff away. There is even more stuff at my mom’s house that I know I will eventually toss. God it is sooooo hard. I am a packrat and everything is sentimental to me. Now that I am in SF I am really keeping an eye on my recreational shopping. I can’t ever get to the point I was in NYC. My stuff took over my life.
Looking forward to going through more boxes and throwing things away when I next go visit the parents.
Sometimes what you keep for years without any use starts to grow out of proportion.
Never imagined I had so much of it.
Now…let’s see how long until it’s bloated again.
I took three shpopping bags of clothes and shoes to Goodwill and I have one more that is going this weekend. And before that I had about 4 shopping bags of stuff I just threw out in the garbage.
I have a slew of CD’s that I posted on craiglist for $3 each but no takers. So I am going to bring them in to work and give them away. And a few books as well.
And I know there will be much much more that’s gonna go. Oh it feels so good to purge. Why oh why did I keep all that stuff? I am sure my shrink will have an answer for me LOL.
...I am throwing things out. And there is sooooo much more that I am going to chuck.
threw out half a trash bag of junk (the other half was actually trash) and have a huge bag of clothes and a small bag of books that are going to my church thrift shop tomorrow.
I cleaned out a bunch of old clothing so I wouldn’t clutter up my room at school. That is progress!
I threw out a whole slew of magazines and clippings I know I will never read. And I am taking in a big pile of papers to be shredded at work. And I threw out about 8 old camera-in-a-box things that I never will get developed and are super super old. Like three or four years old. They won’t turn out. When I think of what vacation pictures I will never see becasue of my procrastination it makes me very very sad. :(
All the more reason to go to all those places again with my digital camera, I guess. :)
PS. If you are reading this and want to write to tell me that I am wrong – that those camera-in-a-box things WILL develop well even after 3-4 years ummm…please don’t – cuz you will only depress me more since they are now gone.
some stuff i will never mend. and a neck pillow. and some old magazines i will never read.
