I collected three bags of stuff from my room at my parent’s house to donate! I feel very accomplished, even though I could still do lots of work in there.
How to give away the things that I don't need
How I did it: When all of the old ladies in my life started giving away all of the things they didn't want anymore, I decided that it was time to clean the clutter from my own life. I'm still doing it; always finding more things I can live without. Its freeing!
People doing this are also doing these things:

But I dropped off a few shirts last week. I really need to go through all my clothes and be heartless about it.
Istophur Has accomplished many goals thanks to this site enforcing me to write
It feels great to help people that can use it. When you think of all that clutter of stuff you never use and to be able to help others who will and can use it, it’s a gimme. Definetely do this one! Especially if you can give stuff to people you love like friends and family. If they have a need for it it is that much nicer feeling to give to those kindsa peeps in your life!
Don’t give it to people you have any issues with / bitterness, that sucks later on cause you think, shit, I could’ve given that to ….. (friends / family you really care for)
Go for it though, you will see the good vibes it brings you internally surface!

...is that I will get to decide what I really need to keep. Sure, a few things can go into storage at my parents’ place, but most of what I own I don’t really use or want. Anything worth owning I will attempt to give away to someone who will appreciate it, and what is left will go to charity shops, recycling or landfill (in that order). I have until the middle of November 2008 to accomplish this.
Today I gave away duplicate items from my bathroom to other people in the apartment block :)
Right now, I’m posting on my blog an entry full of free clothing and whatever that I’m going to give to my readers for free . If any of it is unclaimed, I’ll donate it to charity. A lot of the items are brand names, or would actually worth something if I could be bothered to sell it, but instead, I’m going to teach myself a valuable lesson by giving it all away.
I donated a shirt, videogame and a couple other things yesterday. Its getting harder to find things in my apartment that I can give away. I really need to go home and work on things there. Maybe this weekend.
I gave away two tops and two books today :)
It’s a bit annoying how most charity shops near me won’t take books because they’re difficult to sell, so I usually leave them out in the stairwell of my apartment block for someone else to pick up if they want them.
As an aside, I started leaving things out there a few months ago, then other residents started leaving their unwanted things out too. I’ve picked up some really useful things this way – baskets, a porcelain plant pot, even a bookcase! :)
