Learn how to do capoeira

My capoeira class stopped for the summer and when it starts again next month, there is only one class (no beginners!). I attended two of the ‘big’ classes at the end of last term but absolutely froze when it came to taking part in the roda. I’m nervous about starting again, but I wanted to take part in this class for about five years, and definitely wouldn’t have started without a beginners class last year, so feel that I started at the right time and that it would be a real shame to give up. So why haven’t I paid my money for the new class?

I love dancing and am competent at modern jive. I’ve seen a capoeira class advertised for about five years now, but have always been busy on the night of the class. Last September I quit my dj-ing on a Tuesday night and joined the class. It’s more gymnastics than dancing but I love it. I’m not progressing very fast, and I’m not terribly good but I love it. I feel better for spending time upside down and attempting things I haven’t done since I was a child.
