I am going to take an elective class in tennis next spring. Thats the only chance I have to take this class before I graduate!
How I did it: I took lessons. I told my teacher my goals and I practiced with him twice a week for a month, and three times a week for the second month. I learned the basics (grips, swings, strategy, etc.) and having a teacher there to correct me was indispensible.
I'm not a great player, but I have a complete game. I can actually play with others without feeling like I'm ruining their day. I will improve with practice.
Lessons & tips: Practice regularly
Find a coach, even if its a friend
Practice again, its all about consistency

Two of my friends are the high school state champions in Illinois for tennis, so I think I’m going to ask them for a lesson sometime.
Veryoldhick went to see Blink 182, a goal that I didn't put down!!! :)
I can do the basics, serving, rules volley but I’m not good enough to consider myself “decent”. I’ll know when this is done, on another note playing tommarow at UNH will help out.

I wanna have great legs!!!
i have absolutely no hand eye coordination. this was a silly goal. and not realistic
I’ve been taking lessons for about two years now, and it’s definitely alot of fun, but also alot of work. In the end it’s completely worth all the time and energy you put in; the feeling after you hit a fantastic volley or a winning backhand is just incredible. Plus, you get a great tan from being out in the sun all day. xD
Had my first course yesterday, was fantastic. After a 2hour lesson I was able to do an acceptable service and exchange balls with a partner. Had a lots of fun and the teacher was really cool.
I’m still registered for 10 others course hours so I should improve my tennis skills fast. Next game this sunday :)
Really worth it !
Hey, I’ll get this goal soon, I’m officially registered for 4 hours per week during 3 weeks, should give me a basis :D
Found a place with beginner courses, not too expensive, should start September 8…
well I signed up for it,
sounds fun n my coach says i’m pretty ready n talented for it, so let’s see how far i can push with it!
