I recently went to the dentist and asked him about getting whiter teeth. He told me that brushing alone will not change the shade of your teeth, he also said that getting them professionally whitened costs a hefty amount (£400+). He suggested looking around for products that contain low levels of hydrogen peroxide like whitening strips that cover the 6 front teeth but he said to make sure you dont overuse these products and keep them off of your gums.
Good luck people :)

I’ve been brushing and brushing. They’ve gotten whiter, but still no eye blinding white smile – yet!

using the crest whitestrips, but I always flake out and stop using them, or I don’t use them enough, so it doesn’t do much. The next time I go grocery shopping and have enough extra in the budget, I’m going to buy them again, or maybe try one of the newer kinds of things (what does anyone think of different products?) and try to stick to it this time. I already use a sonicare toothbrush, and whitening toothpaste.

self-whitening kits work for me. perhaps they don’t make a huge difference, but i feel like i have a shinier smile having used them.

I had them professionally whitened a few years ago, but it didn’t make that big of a difference. Since then I’ve been keeping it up with Crest White Strips once or twice a year, and they work much better! My dentist was so impressed that now when people come in to ask him about whitening, which he used to do, he just tells them to use the Crest strips. Nice and cheap by comparison, too!
