How I did it: My brother-in-law turned us on to Smallville. We purchased a few seasons of the show for him for his birthday and then eventually began watching along with him. My husband uploaded the series to his laptop when he went to Iraq, and Smallville was one of the many was he passed the time in the desert while he wasn't on duty. I lost my enthusiasm for the show while my husband was gone, but when he returned home he convinced me that I absolutely needed to catch up in the series, so watching episodes together on his beat up laptop was one of the ways we reconnected when he returned from Iraq.
