In my opinion, getting trained in basic first aid and CPR is a really worthwhile goal, because knowing what to do in an emergency situation could really make a difference to someone’s life or well-being. Now that I’m a trained fire marshal (woo…)and it looks like I may be able to get the company to sponsor me on a first aid course. All in the name of health and safety!
How to take a CPR/first aid course
How I did it: I looked up CPR courses online and found some that were being taught in my city. I made sure that it didn't interfere with my work schedule and that I could afford it. Then I went to the class. I completed a test and my certificates will be mailed to me.
Lessons & tips: Be assertive.
Ask questions.

I’ve taken two courses that included CPR and First Aid. The course also included basic firefighting techniques and sea survival.
Although it seems pretty straight forward when seen on TV CPR isn’t quite that easy. So I recomend that everybody learns how to do this. Someones live, someone you love, might depend upon it. I’m sure you can spare a couple of nights so that you can learn this – it’s worth it!
