organize my paperwork

There’s such a mess in this room…
I kinda feel like I’m drowning in tons of papers.. So one of the first things I’m going to do right after my graduation and university entering exams (and after a few sprees – celebration is necessary:D) is to clean up the mess. Sort the things I’ll need and throw away the unnecessary garbage.

... not close to finished, but made a dent in it. Got rid of most of the paper clutter that I hadn’t gotten around to stuffing in the box. I must’ve been practicing horrible posture, because my upper back is killing me now. :/

Need a filing cabinet bad.

Remember to fill the bottom drawers first so the cabinet doesn’t fall on you. It is easy to store your books there so you can alphabetize using the top drawer for files.

Put like files together
Bank Statements by year
Bills Statements by company name
Credit Card Receipts
Credit Card Statements
House
Ideas
Instructions
IRS
Medical
etc….... Now it is very easy to find anything because it is where it belongs. Whoo Hoo! Current bills get filed as they are paid.

Paperwork seems to be 85% contained. Considering this an accomplishment and crossing it off my list!

I’m a teacher and have papers everywhere! I am an idea collector and often print from the internet only to have great ideas get lost in piles on my table. I want to put papers in folders, filing cabinets, binders, whatever!

Before I move into a bigger flat (where there would be a lot more room to keep even more unneeded old bills etc.) I want to get organized.
Right now I have
- two big boxes with all sorts of papers
- 8 ring binders where some of the older stuff is filed
- 4 very ugly magazine files

When I need to find something I often have to go through everthing – unless I am lucky.

My goal is to have a system in place that makes it easy for me to find everything. After I move I want to start a new habit of dealing with everthing straigth away or at least once a month.

when one overheats, I use the other until it dies, then go back to the last one… method seems to be working….5 bags of shredded paper so far! (I found some old bills in the garage that were 10 years old (GASP!!!)

Not a good sign???

I shredded that last box only to have hubby come in with another…. so this is still not finished, but the files are taking shape nicely! I feel so organized!

Made some paper progress last week with my filing…I did put a large number of files away in the cabinet with file labels…but I am not convinced it is organized to my liking..and besides, there is another few boxes of shredding to go through before I call this one finished!
