Seriously. Let me put on some grown up pants once in a while and try to look like I know what I’m talking about when I’m not talking about cartoons or Korean boy bands. Sigh, maturity.
How I did it: I decided to create a list of news sources I value and check in with them regularly -- usually in the morning when I first get to work. I found blogs to be the most useful in terms of getting analysis -- I started at The Atlantic and then looked at blogrolls and followed links, and tried to find interesting writers with opposing viewpoints.
Lessons & tips: Don't expect to understand how to fix the economy. Ever.
Resources: The Economist, The Atlantic, Slate, NPR, Pajamas Media, Politico, Washington Post, National Review, Wkly Standard, Talking Points Memo, Think Progress.org, Salon
