keep learning (everything)for the rest of my life

I created a group on facebook called real academia in which students from NUI Galway come in and spend a day learning stuff completely unrellated to their course. Its education as an end in itself rather than as a means to a qualification.

Other unvierisities should do it cos its so easy just to focus on your own course without realising there are so many other topic of interest around you.

To learn more for future and prestent purposes

Plans made to learn VPO and sedimentation. Learned how to use a different TEM instrument…. Wrote my first invention disclosure- yuck.
Need to read up on computer hardware….

I will soon need to learn this… and they’re so many options! Too bad Wiki can’t give you specific lessons in investments =D

1) My mom taught me to knit in December(a bit against my will, but I’ll try anything new :) ). My bro-in-law couldn’t stop grinning at me, tomboy I am.
2) Potato soup- allrecipes.com rules…I learned to make it and it was good.
3) Learned how to make my fav. dish from my mom also in Dec. (su tofu)
4) Learned how to regenerate african violets from just its leaf. (mwahahaha- an army of them I shall make)

Woot! a chosen one, am I. Actually, I think they’re doing the selection process there…and seeing how they typically turn down grad students (at least the ones I know), I don’t think I’ll get too far :( Oh well- this is my first jury duty call. I’m intrigued to see what they’ll do. Better go before I’m late. At least they allow good ol’ lappys to keep you company. :)

Well, they always say there’s a first for everything. I got my car towed, and I learned how to get it back at the price of a real pretty penny. :( But now I know :)
