Going through Zeitgeist to cheer on some newbies and see what everyone else is doing, my eye fell on this next one in the list of Today’s most popular goals:
http://www.43things.com/things/view/134/learn-to-play-the-guitar
I’ve got a guitar standing in my living room but I never play. I know a few chords and can play 1,5 song, but I have never learned to really play. In the past I’ve tried a few times, but always stopped almost immediately because my fingers started to hurt.
So, this will be my April-Zeitgeist-goal. 1 month ago

I just spotted this goal on someone’s list and it jumped out at me. I always love reading Zeitgeist entries, comments and goals and getting inspired by other people’s dreams and passions. I think it’s a great idea to pick random goals off Zeitgeist and try them out, to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit and try new things. 1 month ago

In January, I decided to work on a goal that I’ve been putting off for a very long time but really have to deal with. So let’s make that happen. 4 months ago

I managed to learn the Dutch alphabet, which I did a little research on today. It was easier than I thought it would be.4 months ago

I am pretty sure it’s the same as the English alphabet, but if it’s not, it sounds quirky and interesting! 4 months ago

I made my Kiva donation today, and got two for the price of one thanks to a link I found earlier. That makes my Zeitgeist goal complete within 8 hours of adopting it, a new record! If only all these random goals were this easy to do. 6 months ago

I found this goal kind of roundabout through Zeitgeist: looking up my October Bootcamp team members, then finding a goal from one of them. This one was from juneair, so thanks for that friend! I think this is something I can definitely get done by the end of October, and then I can focus on a) doing November’s and b) finishing up August and September’s, which have been put on hold for too long. 6 months ago

(Full disclosure: I do not yet have Term Life Insurance, but I am in the middle of getting a bunch of different quotes. I’m working on it. And that’s worth noting because: a) I’m doing something that I don’t know anything about and I’m still doing it, b) it involves thinking about the future which I don’t do, and c) it involves money which is something I hate dealing with.)
It’s been a long time since I’ve donated blood and I think it’s high time that I tried again. Don’t know exactly when I’ll have time, but as soon as I put the period on the last sentence of this paragraph I’m going to look up Alberta Blood Services and see if I can book a day. Because this one seems easy and the right thing to do. 8 months ago

I was randomly browsing the Zeitgeist today and someone really does think that it’s important to get a LOT of life insurance. And really, at 33, even though I have no spouse, no dependents, and no property, I do have a lot of stuff, and currently a fair amount of debt. And I think that should not fall to my parents if I should die in a freak accident. So I guess I’ll be doing some research about life insurance. Like a grownup.

At first I thought it looked like a silly goal, but then I read 1RL’s wonderful entry about her hot cocoa and I knew I had to try it. Some time this week, I’m going to get up early, make her delicious hot cocoa recipe, and read Calvin & Hobbes. Like someone who deserves to. 10 months ago

I think this will be my last month working on this particular goal. I recently added a monthly “Boot Camp” goal for the first time and I think I like the general theme/central idea more than one specific goal—plus I have “A Week’s Experiment” for that. We’ll see. 11 months ago

I’ve always been a meat and potatoes kind of girl. Oh, and bread. And cheese. And chocolate…you get the picture.
I could really stand to up my intake of the food groups my grandfather fondly calls “what food eats” (No offense to you vegetarians/vegans out there.) It will be good for my weight and fitness goals, and probably for my skin, etc…I have a million and one reasons to eat more fruits and veggies, but I don’t do it as often as I should because, well, other stuff tastes better.
Anyone got a super-duper vegetable recipe that doesn’t involve slathering everything in ranch? I know it’s good…kinda defeats the purpose though. :)
PS. My starting point is about 1 serving of fruit OR vegetable at every meal, like grapes with breakfast, an apple with lunch, and a small salad with dinner. 11 months ago

This month I chose “Read a classic” in keeping with my reading 25 books goal.
I didn’t bake cookies last month, so this month I’ll complete that goal as well :P 12 months ago

I love the title of this goal, it’s so fitting! And I really, really need to do this. Between getting new carpet in the entire upstairs in three weeks(!) and leaving for college next semester(!!!), I have a lot of stuff that needs to be introduced to either the recycling bin or a new home. 14 months ago

in my search for a new goal I found “March Bootcamp 2012: On the Move!” which is something I would totally do but I really found it was appropriate for where I am right now in my life. I really want to lose weight, tone up and improve my endurance for a 5k I am doing in May. I think I really do need to get harder on myself and form a bootcamp mentality so I can lose 5lbs like I did in January when I was really motivated. 14 months ago

...is to ‘find the career that fits my skills, natural talents and passion.’ I figured this was a good one as I haven’t worked out what I want to be yet exactly, despite being 23 years young. 14 months ago

“Train myself to be highly focused in life”.
This one means a lot to me because lately I have been setting higher goals for myself and I know that I need to be different to achieve all that I want in life. I want to be focused and I think this takes some “training” or practice to achieve.
For the month I will train myself to be more focused on the important things, like my career, courses, family, and friends and work at improving my chances for success :D 15 months ago

I’ve chosen this goal because I need to motivate myself into working out and this seems a great challenge. Since february has 29 days, I’ll need at least 17 minutes of exercise per day to get this task done.
Let the games begin! :) 15 months ago
