Read every book that I own

I own quite a few books (almost a 1000) and have read only about half. I am trying to not buy any new books until I read all I have (I did buy this one). I am going through them by reading one fiction then one non-fiction. I get whatever is next on the shelf. I have made some progress and have started listing every book that I read on Shelfari.com.

i’ve been an avid reader my whole life. but in recent years i just did not have the time or energy to keep this momentum going! but i was still buying books that i thought looked great and that i really wanted to own. the result of this is a huge collection of extraordinarily great books…...but very few of which have been read beyond the dedication….
I want to achieve this goal so i actually have value for my money!
and because …well….why not?

I want to do this.. However, I want to do this before I move to New Mexico on March 2!! It’s definitely going to be hard, but I think I can get a lot of them in.. The ones I don’t read I’ll just have to ship out, or get rid of. but It’s my goal to do this!!!

I started reading one of my books hat I thought would bore me the least. And it turned out that I loved it. After I finished reading that book I went to the nextone in the series and before I knew it I was on the next series. 17 books later I finished then went to barnes and noble. :P

It should not be too hard, I dont have many. Maybe 20. Also I want to add to this goal by saying, not only read every book that I own but also not buy another until I do so. Thats my problem, every time I see a book I think I’ll really like I buy it and put it on my shelf and I have not read any of the books I own. I know….it’s sad. LOL. This is something I have wanted to do for a while, now I just need to find the time.

... It’s gonna be quite difficult, cause I have SOOO many books on my bookshelf that I haven’t read yet. However, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step.
