Goddess of Travel is learning more each day...

More, more, more 15 months ago

It’s been a while since I’ve experienced this. Last year in LA, my amazing soul-friend John and I spent hours at Fred 62 talking about our whatever topic spoke up. His conversations always inspire me and make me see the world as a big, exciting place. Totally in the moment. I am on the lookout for other people who will invest their time with me. I am willing and available to join in the conversation.

Late at night is the best time! Fewer verbal filters, stranger more intense conversation, imaginative ideas that would normally not be spoken… :-D

Amazing! 2 years ago

Had quite the philosophical conversations with two of the most intellectual and interesting people I know until the wee hours of the morning. Great experience.

&next time, don't start yawning halfway through! 2 years ago

I think we touched on everything from religion to politics to sex and all imaginable things between.

He was genuinely interested in my opinions, as I was in his. It’s nice to talk to someone and debate points with them, someone you don’t necessarily feel you have to agree with for the sake of keeping the peace.

I feel like we’ve learnt a lot from each other, and I hope to keep in touch with regular chats.

There’s a lot to be said for a proper conversation, face-to-face, and the accompanying nuances of body language and facial expressions.

&hold on a second... 2 years ago

Doing this over email doesn’t count, right?

I want these to be face-to-face conversations, not email or phone or some other kind of electronic media. It’s so easy these days to lock yourself away from the world in an ivory tower made of letters from the alphabet, and hide in the room at the top, bathed in green glowing light from the screen – so much harder to hold an actual face-to-face conversation.

I did it! 2 years ago

I remember this one night in particular: I met this guy at a party who gave me a ride home. When we got to my place, however, it seemed we had so much more to talk about, so I invited him out for coffee at this 24-hour cafe. Though we’re no longer in touch, I still smile when I think back to how giddy I felt that night, having coffee with this person I’d just met and was interested in, and feeling as if I was making a real, profound connection.

I mean, is there a better thing you can do? :)

SO worth it.. 3 years ago

Do this with a person you love. This is the night that will go down in your private history of the relationship as the night when you got to know each other. This night might never occur again, but that’s ok.. It can’t ever be as good as it was the first time.
